Neighbourhood Loan
An exceptional expense comes up, and you have no means of paying it. Read the following. Maybe you’re eligible for our Neighbourhood Loan Program.
A Neighbourhood Loan gives you access to small loans from $200 to $800. To be eligible, you must be referred to Option consommateurs by a community organization and meet certain criteria:
Your loan application will be subject to budget consultation. If it is accepted by a loan committee, you will be given a maximum of 12 months to repay your loan at an interest rate of 5%. Meanwhile, we will provide you with follow-up to help you manage your budget.
This service is offered in collaboration with the Desjardins Movement, Centraide, Alerte Centre-Sud and Action solidarité grand Plateau.
A Neighbourhood Loan gives you access to small loans from $200 to $800. To be eligible, you must be referred to Option consommateurs by a community organization and meet certain criteria:
- You are a low-income person.
- You are faced with an unforeseen expense related to an immediate need. For example, the purchase of tools allowing you to return to work, glasses, school material, etc.
- You cannot obtain a loan from a financial institution.
- You have certain ability to repay.
- You are member of a Desjardins branch or wish to become one.
- You live inside the quadrilateral bounded by Guy Street and Côtes-des-Neiges (West), Pie IX Boulevard (East), Van Horne Avenue and Rosemont Boulevard (North) and the St. Lawrence River (South).
