Montréal, March 3rd, 2010 –
Please note that Option consommateurs Ottawa’s head office Anu Bose will be presenting her reactions on the federal budget after the partner’s lockup session. She will be available in the Railway Room in the Centre Block of Parliament to answer questions.
Last February 15, Option consommateurs has discussed with Finance Minister M. Jim Flaherty. During this meeting, Option consommateurs insisted on the fact that, among other things, the budget should include income tax stabilization measures designed to help the most vulnerable Canadians, primarily those living alone, the elderly and single-parent families. Its recommendations include increasing the guaranteed income supplement for people living alone, doubling the GST refund for low-income workers, and increasing the Canada Child Tax Benefits.
