Give yourself a moment of privacy

Today, Option consommateurs is releasing the video “The Connected Car”, featuring Philippa Lawson, privacy lawyer. This video is based on a research published by the BC Freedom of Information and Privacy Association (FIPA).

This video is the first of a series of four videos entitled A Moment of Privacy. This series seeks to popularize some of the privacy research projects made possible by the Contributions Program from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. The video gives the opportunity to researchers that published a study on privacy in the last few years, to explain, in simple terms, some of the results of their study.

Stay tuned! In the next few weeks, we will be releasing new videos on the following topics: fitness trackers (with Andrew Hilts, from Open Effect), young people and privacy(with Matthew Johnson, from MediaSmarts), and the protection of data in the era of cloud computing (with Heidi Bohaker, associate professor at the University of Toronto).

This project has been funded by the Office of Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC); the views expressed herein are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect those of the OPC.

We are very grateful to the researchers that accepted to take part in this project. Enjoy!
