Accessing your two credit files is an essential step in understanding your financial situation. So how do you access them?
First, it's important to know that Canadians have two credit reports, with different companies: Equifax and TransUnion. Each of your reports may contain different information.
Accessing your credit reports online is a right, and it’s free. You can access your report through the credit agencies' websites. Some financial institutions also allow you to view your credit report through your banking interface.
We recommend that you check your credit reports at least once a year to ensure everything is in order. Do you notice any errors or fraudulent accounts? Check our guide to find out what to do in case of fraud.
