Montreal, May 6, 2024 - Option consommateurs raised $96,553 at its annual benefit event held last Thursday in Room C2 of Montreal's Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth.
More than 130 participants came together to support the organization's mission, and gave guests the opportunity to exchange views with other key players in the consumer community.
Two Option consommateurs awards were also presented during the evening. The first went to Maître Vincent Ranger, who for over 5 years defended pro bono some 20 people who had been cheated in a complex real estate scheme. We would like to pay tribute to his great dedication and his work for greater social justice.
The second prize was awarded to Richard Olivier, a journalist for 35 years at TVA, who has always taken the protection of the most vulnerable to heart, and who has contributed to the influence of consumer associations throughout his career. We thank him for his excellent work and incomparable humanity.
Option consommateurs would like to sincerely thank the evening's main partner, Belleau Lapointe. We would also like to acknowledge the contribution of our major partners, the Chambre de la sécurité financière and the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
Finally, Option consommateurs would like to express its gratitude to the other partners and all the participants in the event, whose contribution is indispensable to its success.
Funds raised during this event will enable Option consommateurs to pursue its mission of helping consumers and defending their rights.
