Option consommateurs c. Infineon, Samsung, Hynix, Micron and others (DRAM memory)

Description

In October 2004, we launched a class action against certain DRAM memory manufacturers (including Infineon, Samsung, Hynix and Micron). These manufacturers are alleged to have conspired to illegally raise the price of their products. The alleged acts, which took place between July 1, 1999 and June 15, 2002, contravened the Competition Act and resulted in consumers overpaying by millions of dollars. The class action is designed to compensate them.

Our members

Whoever you are (consumer, business or other), if, between April 1, 1999 and June 30, 2002, you purchased DRAM RAM or an electronic device or product containing it (computer, printer, DVD player, game console, MP3 player, graphics card), you are a member of this action.

Where we are

Canada-wide settlements have been reached with each of the DRAM manufacturers against whom class action lawsuits have been launched in Canada. Under the terms of these agreements, the defendants have agreed to pay more than $79 million to compensate all those who purchased DRAM or an electronic device or product containing DRAM. These agreements were approved by the court.

The distribution plan provides for the sharing of compensation between different categories of purchasers. If, between April 1, 1999 and June 30, 2002, you purchased DRAM-type random access memory or an electronic device or product containing it, you may submit a claim.
