Option consommateurs c. Google (Internet data collection)
Description
Option consommateurs accuses Google of breaching its legal obligations when it collects personal information from Internet users who use its services or visit websites that integrate tools developed by Google.
In particular, we criticize Google :
- not obtaining sufficient consent to collect personal information;
- not respecting the choice of Internet users who refuse the collection of their personal information, by ignoring their browser's "Do Not Track" signal;
- misrepresent that the browser's private browsing mode allows them to surf the web confidentially.
