Royal Bank computer failure in 2004

Description

In June 2004, we filed a class action against the Royal Bank. In early June 2004, the financial institution experienced computer problems that prevented certain transactions (payroll deposits, withdrawals, payments, etc.) from being recorded in customers' accounts. As a result, thousands of consumers suffered inconveniences and were unable, for example, to pay their accounts or carry out transactions. Some of them then had to use their credit card or line of credit, which they would not have done otherwise. The purpose of the class action is to compensate consumers - whether or not they are Royal Bank customers - who have suffered as a result of this situation.
