Irving Oil

On January 20, 2006, we filed a motion for authorization to institute a class action against Irving Petroleum. From January 1993 to December 1997, the oil company charged customers at its service stations in the Quebec-New Brunswick border region higher taxes than the law allowed. The company would have acted in the same way elsewhere. As a result, the multinational is alleged to have harmed many consumers. The purpose of the class action is to compensate them.

Our members

You fall into this category if, between January 1993 and December 1997, you purchased Irving gasoline or heating oil in a region bordering Quebec, for example near the New Brunswick border.

Where we are

On September 2, 2008, the Court of Appeal refused to authorize this appeal. On the recommendation of our lawyers, we will not be appealing this decision.
