Avis class action - Car rental by young drivers (under 25)

When you were under 25, did you ever pay extra because of your age on a short-term car rental? Or have you been prevented from renting a car or certain vehicle models because of your age? If so, we believe you have been the victim of a discriminatory practice.

These practices are imposed even when young drivers are already covered by their own insurance and have therefore already paid more to insure the vehicle because of their age.

Last summer, Option consommateurs filed a request for authorization to exercise a class action against several companies in the short-term car rental industry, such as Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo, National, Avis, Discount, Globe, Thrifty and Budget Auto, in order to put an end to these discriminatory practices and obtain a monetary award.
