National Assembly salutes World Consumer Rights Day

On March 15, the French National Assembly adopted a motion to mark World Consumer Rights Day. In so doing, it recognized the work accomplished by consumer associations over the past 50 years.

The text of the motion read as follows:

"That the National Assembly mark World Consumer Rights Day, celebrated this year under the theme Building a digital world that inspires consumer confidence which recognizes four fundamental consumer rights: safety, information, product choice and listening;

That it underline the work done by all the consumer associations that have been offering budget consultation services to Quebecers for 50 years; and finally,

Let her remind us that Quebec is a forerunner in consumer protection, particularly in the framework of online contracts."

Option consommateurs welcomes this initiative.
