More than $117,000 raised by theOption consommateurs

Montreal, May 30, 2022 - Option consommateurs raised over $117,000 at its benefit event held last Thursday, May 26 at Montreal's Centre St-Jax in virtual mode.

Under the theme "What can we learn from the crisis to better protect consumers? some 100 on-site participants and nearly 60 online were able to attend three roundtables featuring a dozen experts, and take part in a cocktail reception featuring a performance by comedian Philiipe-Audrey Larrue-St-Jacques.

The evening highlighted the exceptional contribution of Madame France Latreille to consumer protection. She was awarded the Option consommateurs prize for her work, which has undoubtedly helped consumers and the organizations that support them to move things forward.

Option consommateurs would like to sincerely thank the evening's main partner, Belleau Lapointe. The organization would also like to acknowledge the contribution of its major partners, the Chambre de la sécurité financière, the Chambre des notaires and the Fondation pour les consommateurs.

The contribution of the event's associate partners - the Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ), Sarrazin Plourde, Énergir, the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA), BIP Recherche, the Commission des plaintes relatives aux services de télécom-télévision (CCTS) and the Caisse d'économie solidaire - was also essential. We should also mention the support of our conference partners (Ordre des CPA du Québec, Office de la protection du consommateur, Sylvestre Painchaud & Associés), cocktail reception (PAA Advisory) and breaks (Confédération des syndicats nationaux).
