Neurontin

Description
On May 9, 2005, we joined the class action against Pfizer, the manufacturer of the anticonvulsant Neurontin (Gabapentin). Approved for the treatment of epilepsy in combination with other medications, Neurontin is often prescribed alone to people suffering, for example, from bipolar illness, migraine, panic attacks or agoraphobia. In such cases, it increases the risk of suicidal behavior.

Members
You're a member if, since May 1994, you've purchased Neurontin in Quebec and experienced adverse effects such as suicidal behaviour.

Where we are now
On August 29, 2011, we withdrew from the class action against Pfizer in order to include Quebec members in the national class certified by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on February 18, 2010.
Lawyers fromOption consommateurs will be consulted on the strategic direction of the case and will intervene in the conduct of the litigation with respect to the Quebec class members.
