Provincial 2022 pre-budget consultations - Comments fromOption consommateurs

Option consommateurs is concerned about the impact of the health crisis on consumers' financial health. As a result of the pandemic, the economic indicators generally used to assess the economic situation have shown abnormally high variations.

To help consumers cope with the major rise in housing and food expenses, we are proposing a series of measures to enhance government allowances, improve Quebec's tax system and ensure better access to housing. In addition, we are taking advantage of these consultations to propose various measures to strengthen consumer rights, better set electricity rates and support Quebec community groups.
