In Quebec and around the world, digital sharing economy platforms are playing an important role in a number of business sectors. This raises questions about the impact such a phenomenon can have on consumer rights. In this study, the authors attempt to shed light on the liability of digital sharing economy platforms under Quebec law. In addition to reviewing the main liability regimes that may apply in this context, they analyze 10 platforms operating in different economic environments.
